“MidWay is kind of the sign of hope that there are women in music who have a chance in this industry. That there are people out there who really want to see women in music thrive.”
- Rachel Glago, Executive Director
MidWay began in April of 2016 as the Bloomington Women in Music Festival (look to slideshow on the right for images) that celebrated the artistry of Bloomington, Indiana women in music. Over 15 women-fronted acts from a variety of genres came together for a weekend of shows that benefited the Bloomington nonprofit: Middle Way House. The following year, the first ever MidWay Music Festival took place.
The 2018 festival expanded to include our official nonprofit status as MidWay Music Speaks, five venues, 22 vendors & community booths, and 30 women-featured acts from a variety of genres, experience levels, and areas of the country.
MidWay Music Speaks, now as a nonprofit, looks forward to bringing even more talent to the stage, connecting more women in music, and benefiting organizations that strive to forward the personal and professional lives of women.
